Gold and silver edged higher on Thursday tracking global cues. Some doubts emerged over the certainty of a trade deal between US and China after President Donald Trump signed legislation supporting protesters in Hong Kong, irking Beijing.

MCX Gold (Dec) futures were 0.27 per cent up at Rs 37,630, while MCX Silver (Dec) futures added 0.21 per cent to Rs 44,133 in morning trade.
